Special congratulations go to Ursula C who also secured a medal placing in 11 of her events – bronze in 50m and 200m freestyle, 100m breaststroke, 100m and 200m butterfly; silver in 200m breaststroke and 200m backstroke; and well-deserved golds in 50m breaststroke, 100m freestyle, 100m backstroke and 200m Individual Medley.
Following the busy schedule of individual events, the last day of the Yorkshire championships saw Stocksbridge swimmers taking part in the team events. These consist of freestyle and medley relays and are full of friendly competition. 8 Stocksbridge teams took part in 18 relay races throughout the day, with the open boys’ team reaching the final and finishing 8th overall in the freestyle relay.
The next big event for Stocksbridge swimmers is the club’s annual Open Meet which is being held next month on Saturday 22nd April at Ponds Forge international. Sponsorship opportunities are available for local businesses interested in advertising their brand to hundreds of young swimmers and their families.
